The Masterworks Student Orchestra
of Central PA

 

The MSO is an ensemble of home-educated and private schooled students from throughout the Pennsylvania Centre Region. Its membership is determined by audition, consideration of orchestra instrumentation needs, talent, availability, and interest. Every effort is made to accommodate students of all levels

 

Students are enrolled for up to four 7-week sessions each season. MSO musicians attend weekly rehearsals. At the conclusion of each term, the orchestra presents a free concert to the local community.

Susan Kroeker, Director, has a Bachelor of Music degree from Wheaton College Conservatory and a Master of Music degree from the Hartt School of Music. She has performed with numerous symphony orchestras, has taught at colleges including Penn State, and presently performs as a flutist with the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, Nittany Valley Symphony, and the Allegheny Winds. She also was the former Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra and has extensive experience with music management/ administration, and performance.

 

Susan has over 35 years of experience as a private flute instructor for students of all ages and levels. She has been fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and has obtained the appropriate PA Child Clearances.
